Is God Male?

Gods fatherly love

In the scriptures, God is mostly referred as a male. He is called the father, king and Shepherd and in the Holy Bible in acts it says 'Gods fatherly love for Israel', this is showing how benevolent God is. However, this quote can also be expressed in terms of a mothers love. In Sallie Mcfague book of the 'Models of God' says that 'we can image God as both mother and father. However, such as the Catholic Church attributing any form of sexuality to God is a form of paganism as they believe that 'he is neither man nor women; he is God'.
